March 24, 2026 | by Charlie Hands | Equine

Equine Gastroscopy Spring Offer

£200 inc VAT (Save £73)
Available from 17th March – 10th April 2026

Take advantage of our equine gastroscopy spring offer to support the diagnosis and management of gastric ulcers in horses. Early investigation can make a significant difference to your horse’s comfort, behaviour, and performance.

What’s Included:

  • Gastroscopy procedure at HNVG Equine Clinic
  • Standing sedation for the procedure

This offer is suitable for both investigating new cases and monitoring horses undergoing treatment for gastric ulcers.

Why Is Gastroscopy Important?

Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS) is a common condition in horses, but the signs are often subtle and non-specific. These may include:

  • Poor performance
  • Sensitivity when being groomed or ridden
  • Difficulty maintaining weight or condition
  • Dull coat
  • Behavioural changes
  • Recurrent colic

Accurate diagnosis of gastric ulcers requires endoscopy (gastroscopy). This is performed under standing sedation following a short period of fasting.

During the procedure, we assess the stomach and proximal duodenum for inflammation or ulceration, allowing us to provide a targeted treatment and management plan tailored to your horse.

What Happens Next?

Following the gastroscopy, our veterinary team will guide you on:

  • Appropriate treatment options
  • Feeding and management changes
  • Ongoing monitoring and prevention strategies

Our aim is to help improve your horse’s health, comfort, and performance through accurate diagnosis and effective management.

Please Note:

  • Overnight livery is not included (discounted rates available for gastroscopy patients)
  • Treatment for gastric ulcers is not included
  • Lameness evaluation is not included but can be added at the time of booking
