Equine Winter Talk Series

We have 3 fantastic talks lined up over the coming months, and we would encourage everyone to come. They are suitable for all knowledge bases, and you don’t need to be a client of HNVG. So, if you have friends at your yard that would be interested, invite them along for a social. We’ll have hot drinks and cakes from Miss Tea Catering.

Take advantage of this valuable opportunity to expand your knowledge, chat with our vets and connect with your local equine community. We look forward to seeing you there!

Simply let our Reception team know you are attending, so we can cater to the correct numbers. RSVP to any/ all(!) of our evenings: equine@hooknortonvets.co.uk or 01608 730085

  • Innovative treatment options and success stories
  • Q&A session

Understanding the intricacies of the horse’s respiratory system is crucial for maintaining their health, performance, and overall well-being. Equine Vet Toby McAlpine will be hosting as we embark on a journey through the fascinating and complex anatomy and function of the equine respiratory system, from the nostrils to the lungs. We’ll look at the common and not-so-common diseases, how to prevent them and the available treatment options.

Highlights:

  • In depth look at Equine asthma syndrome
  • An overview of infectious respiratory diseases
  • How vets assess the respiratory tract

Take advantage of this valuable opportunity to expand your knowledge, chat with our vets and connect with your local equine community. We look forward to seeing you there!

We invest an enormous amount of time, money and emotion in our horses, regardless of what we want them to do.  What makes one horse easy to deal with and to train, and another a hot-wired bag of nerves with a bad reputation?  The ability of human actions and interventions to influence equine temperament and physical and mental wellbeing begins long before conception, and continues all the way through the horse’s lifetime – for better or for worse!

How does this happen?  How can we optimise our relationships with horses and in so doing improve performance?

Settle in for a ramble through the life story of a horse, and explore the twists and turns of their behaviour and responses.

Simply let our Reception team know you are attending, so we can cater to the correct numbers.

RSVP to any or all(!) of our evenings: equine@hooknortonvets.co.uk or 01608 730085.
