Our fully equipped equine clinic allows us to accommodate equine surgery and medical cases alongside day patients. Surgeries can be performed in stocks under standing sedation and local anaesthesia, or under general anaesthesia in our purpose-built operating theatre. Lameness cases are assessed on our hard trot-up and lunging pad.
Our equine vets work closely with Dr Jessica Kidd, an RCVS and European Specialist in Equine Surgery to offer a range of elective and emergency surgeries, including:
• Arthroscopy for OCD fragment removal
• Arthroscopy for septic joint flushes
• Arthroscopy for injury diagnosis and treatment
• Tenoscopy
• Fracture repair
• Castration, including cryptorchids (‘rigs’)
• Upper airway surgery (e.g. Hobdays, tie-backs)
• ‘Kissing spine’ surgeries (interspinous ligament desmotomy and dorsal spinous process resection)
• Sarcoid and melanoma removal
• Laser surgery
